I’m delighted to announce that ‘Smart’ has been shortlisted for the Children’s Book Award 2016 which is a national award, formerly known as the Red House Book Award.  This is the only national award for children’s books that is voted for entirely by children.

The prize is divided into three categories and ‘Smart’ is one of just three shortlisted books in the Older Readers category.  The two other books shortlisted with ‘Smart’ are ‘Apple and Rain’ by Sarah Crossan and ‘Listen to the Moon’ by Michael Morpurgo.

Past winners include JK Rowling, Malorie Blackman, Anthony Horowitz and Michael Morpurgo.

The winner will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony in Central London on Saturday, 28th May 2016.

Find out more about the award here.

This is massively exciting news and I’m so grateful and amazed by every single one of my debut novel’s book award nominations. Book awards are so important to authors, see my blog post back in Feb 15 ‘Book Awards – from an Author’s Perspective’ to find out why.
